By popular request, I am going to be releasing a version of Mactracker for iPhone and iPod touch alongside the next release of Mactracker for Mac OS X.
It will be available as a web app to start though that may change once Apple releases their SDK in February 2008.

Mactracker and Jaguar
With the beta releases of 4.1 requiring at least Mac OS X v10.3.9, I have received a few inquiries about the lack of support for v10.2.
I plan to release version 4.0.7 for 10.2 alongside the final version of 4.1. 4.0.7 will primarily be a database update and will not include all of the new features that are available in 4.1.

Link to Mactracker from other apps
One of the new features in 4.1b2 is support for the "mactracker://" URI scheme. With this scheme you can create a link to have Mactracker take you to a specific info window from another application like Safari, iChat, or your company's service/inventory/client database.
Simply open an info window and select "Show Model Hyperlink" from the "Edit" menu. In the "Link" window that appears you have two choices for creating a link; "Address only" and "Address with HTML source". The latter is likely best for use on web pages and forum posts.
An example of "Address only":
mactracker://ABA79B4E-3781-4053-8D73-AC46D16CE643
An example of posting the "Address with HTML source" link:
Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White)
Mactracker 4.0 (and later) also supports receiving AppleEvents from applications like FileMaker Pro. I have included an example within Mactracker's application package.
Mactracker 4.1 Beta 2

- Adds MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo), MacBook Pro (17-inch Core 2 Duo)
- MacBook models have been moved into their own category

- Adds "This Mac" button to "My Mac models" addition window to retrieve current Mac's name and serial number
- Adds Motion Sensor as separate entry rather than as an addition to Hard Drive entry
- Adds ability to link to info windows using the "mactracker://" URL
- Update functionality now respects system proxy settings
- Other minor changes and additions
